I’ve heard it said that we women need to “lift as we climb.” In other words, those with experience, expertise, and connections must clutch the palms of those farther down the same career path and compel them in their callings. Nancy Rue is the epitome of the servant leader and mentor of authors. She has not only propelled me professionally, but cared deeply about me personally. It is rare beauty to have such a seasoned author not only read and appreciate my work, but make it her mission to be a cheerleader in my writing journey. Besides, she’s a class act and simply delightful. Whether you read one of her 17,000 books or are one of the lucky few who get to sit at her actual feet, you will be blessed.
The best part of my writing journey began when I met Nancy Rue. Nancy speaks truth into a writer’s world. She has the amazing skill of being able to see the vision and help you realize it for yourself. Nancy led me down the road of finding my authentic voice. She allowed me the joy of discovery and the beauty of learning to write the way I was born to. I can’t talk about my writing career without Nancy coming into the conversation. I have used the tools, resources, and concepts that she has taught me to continue to become the writer she believed I could be. Nancy invests in you so your can invest into your work and who you are. I consider Nancy Rue to be one of the greatest influences on my career.
Without Nancy’s brilliant mentorship, my book would have remained a half-finished document on my computer.
The Williamsburg Years are my absolute comfort read. It doesn’t matter how old I get – the characters feel like old friends.
I truly do enjoy the interaction Nancy inspires on social media. It lights up parts of my brain and heart I just don’t get mindlessly scrolling and clicking on reels. Nancy Rue is my favorite thing on Facebook!
Nancy Rue has been my writing mentor since 2003. Super generous with her time and her knowledge, Nancy tells you what she loves about your writing while targeting challenges and teaching you how to fix them. I’d have given up without her encouragement and support.
There was a time when I was younger when my whole family would gather around my mom’s rocking chair and listen to her read the Christian Heritage Series. We laughed with Rudy and learned from Austin and cried (spoiler alert!) when it was time to leave Salem and when the Taylors left for Canada and when Aunt Gussie died. Now I’m 15 and have begun to write my own stories. I know if I have questions, comments and concerns about writing or life, I can trust Nancy with anything.
If you need an expert in writing, with an experienced and kind approach, you must call Nancy. She was the captain of the ship as we wrote One Mountain, Two Minds.
Nancy’s personal, relentless quest for authenticity has uniquely equipped her as a partner for those of us joining her in that journey. She shares the wisdom, insights and compassion she has acquired on her own journey, and without hesitation. My life has been forever transformed by the generosity with which she shares herself.
