The Scribbling Woman: A Companion to the Writerly Life

Time for a Change: Introducing Nancy’s Substack

July 23, 2025

“So easy is it, though many housekeepers doubt it, to establish new and better customs in the place of the old.”

Henry David Thoreau

Thank you!

If you’ve been a regular reader of this blog, which for some months has paralleled The Scribbling Woman podcast, thank you.  It’s been fun to give you even more to think about and ponder and play around with. I hope it’s made you want to Scribble On!

But it’s time for a change…

Every now and then I take a look at what I’m doing and how it’s helping (or not!) and where I can best focus my energy. (Have you noticed that there is never enough of it for everything that finds its way into your imagination?)

My most recent taking-stock has revealed that the podcast seems to be plenty of writerly information each week. And that the new Footnotes newsletter on Substack is more accessible and attractive to not just my fellow Scribblies but the people I reach with my own scribbling.

So from now on…

  • Join us fireside at Nancy’s Substack. Bring your bevvy of choice and chat about the Footnotes Collection, how it was created and what it might mean for you.
  • View or listen to The Scribbling Woman weekly podcast. Explore the writerly life that is unique to you.

Still available…

Past blog posts will remain available in case you get the nudge to explore those. Again, thank you for being part of my community. You’re the best.

Through my books (127 so far), leadership of the Scribbling Women, mentoring and, of course, endless cups of black tea, my purpose is to help you find your own quiddititous center. I also make up words...
